Create a Blog
To get your first badge, you need to do these 8 things:
- Create a blog
- Write your first post to welcome people to your blog!
- Change settings permissions for readers if you wish. Go to Settings --> Basic. You need to add some readers if you choose Only these readers. Please add me and some of your friends.
- Check the settings for comments. Go to Settings --> Posts and Comments
- The easiest thing to do is to allow anyone to comment on any post. If you restrict it to members of the blog, make sure you add me as an author! You won't get anything written in the comments section you don't like - see the next point.
- Definitely choose Always for Comment Moderation. This means you will get an email asking you to decide if you want to allow the comment or not. This way no one can write anything bad on your blog!
- If you don't want your visitors to have the word quiz when they try to enter a comment, then read my blog about ReCaptcha and how to get rid of it.
- Create a page with "About Me" as the title. Write a few words about who you are, but don't say anything too personal! Change the "Show pages as" option to "Top tabs". This way it will appear as a tab at the top of the blog.
- Send me your gmail address (if you haven't already done so)
- Send me the address of your blog.
- Post a comment on my blog under the Post called "Welcome". Note - the comment won't appear until I have seen it and approved it.
